Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed!!

This week has been filled with activities dedicated to Johnny Appleseed!!! We read Johnny Appleseed, tasted 3 different kinds of apples, made a chart of our favorite apples, made a book about the life cycle of an apple & finally we made an apple tree snack! It was gooooood and they loved it!!!

I'm in need of a.....BRAIN BREAK!

Brain breaks are often needed when working with the younger kiddo's. Their bodies let me know when they need to get some of the wiggles out. I usually use different Just Dance Videos or just do sports movements. THEY ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I love it too! We like to move together! Afterwards we take a couple of deep breaths to wind our bodies down to get refocused! Here is a video of the class getting their groove on.  You can even catch a glimpse of Ms. Murray dancing in the back.

TAG Readers!

Donor's Choose!!! I have made an account to help raise money for our class to get TAG readers. They will allow the students to listen to reading on leap frogs. It will be really helpful in during our Daily 5 rounds. My students will be able hear the words as they point to them. Monsters in School

I know it's been a week! I am going to try my very best to blog twice a week!!  To help the students understand the rules, Ms. Murray read The Day the Monster came to School. We then discussed to rules of the classroom and the rules of the school. Each student was given a Monster and they had to talk about whether their monster was following the rule or not. If not, they had to tell us how to fix it. Afterwards, they had to place the monster above the line if he was following the rules and below the line, if he wasn't. We have agreed that we want to stay ABOVE the line This is the product of The Day the Monster came to School! Here is the link to get this activity!

First Week!!

Hi All!!
